Grooming Demonstration Underway

A number of volunteers are working with Local Motion to do a demonstration grooming of the Intervale Trail – to accommodate both classic and skate skiers. Staying active in the winter can be a challenge, so we hope this will help more people recreate through the colder months.

The 2 mile route connects Intervale Compost (on the southern end) to the Ethan Allen Homestead (on the northern end).

Map of route:

Parking:

* Intervale Road by Tommy Thompson community gardens
* Ethan Allen Homestead, first lot once you leave the Beltline

This is a mixed use trail so please be friendly to all users (walkers, dogs, other skiers). The packed trail should hold up fairly well to all these uses. We’re grooming the route about every other day (snow permitting). The Intervale is not a resort so please don’t expect exquisite conditions, but it is a quick and easy place to go!

More details on the Intervale Trail can be found at Local Motion’s Trail Finder! www.localmotion.org/trails/trail.php?trail=56
